St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) is pleased to announce that Dr. Teye Umanah, an accomplished and highly skilled neurologist, has joined the hospital team.
Dr. Umanah will be providing comprehensive, individualized assessment and care for a full range of neurological conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
The types of conditions she will treat include stroke follow up, transient ischemic attack (TIAs), seizures, epilepsy, and vascular related dementia.
In her new role, Dr. Umanah will oversee clinical leadership of the Secondary Stroke Prevention Clinic, and will hold weekly office hours among the team of talented physicians in the Internal Medicine department.

After earning a medical degree from the University of Calabar in Nigeria, Dr. Umanah completed Neurology training at JFK University Medical Center in New Jersey. She also attained subspecialist training in Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases at Westen University.
