Providing Cancer Treatment Close to Home

The Chemotherapy Unit is a satellite clinic of the London Regional Cancer Program (LRCP) enabling clients from St. Thomas and Elgin County to receive their cancer treatments close to home when possible. Patients are initially assessed at the London Regional Cancer Program and then referred back to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Chemotherapy Unit. Our highly skilled physicians and Registered Nursing team primarily provides outpatient chemotherapy treatment and follow-up for cancer patients of St. Thomas and Elgin County.

In June 2022, the Chemotherapy Department moved into a newly renovated space in hospital. The space offers patients a more relaxing and private environment to receive treatment, and brings the Chemotherapy team closer to support departments, such as Pharmacy, the Lab, and Diagnostic Imaging.

Referral Process
Physicians from St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and Elgin County can make referrals directly to the New Patient Referral Coordinators at the London Regional Cancer Program.
