Acute Medicine

Care for adult medical patients who are acutely ill and in varying stages of recuperation. Patients on this unit suffer from gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory problems (pneumonia, chronic bronchitis) and cardiovascular disease (stroke, chest pain and heart failure).

Ambulatory Care


Care provided on an outpatient basis, including scheduled procedures and consultations.

Cardiology

Non-invasive diagnostic services, including Echocardiograms, Holter Monitors, Electrocardiograms (ECG), Stress Tests and Arterial Doppler Studies.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy treatments delivered at STEGH allow cancer patients to receive care close to home.

Clinical Nutrition


Nutritional assessment, intervention and education for inpatients and outpatients.

Continuing Care Centre

Temporary care for patients with chronic, complex and multiple non-urgent medical needs who need to stay in hospital for specialized services, rehabilitation, palliative care or transitional care.

Diabetes Education

Assistance for clients with Type 1, Type 2, Pre-Diabetes and Gestational Diabetes.

Diagnostic Imaging

State-of-the-art digital medical imaging that assists physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and injury.

Emergency Department

A full service Emergency Department with specialty teams to meet the unscheduled and emergent needs of the community.

Medical Device Reprocessing

Responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging and sterilization of medical devices.

Mental Health

A 15-bed unit for inpatients requiring hospitalization up to two weeks, and space for related outpatient programs and services.

Physiotherapy

Talbot Trail Physiotherapy runs a clinic out of STEGH and offers a range of health care services.

Pharmacy

Pharmaceutical services that support a high level of inpatient care and functions to promote safe drug use and rational drug therapy.

Rehabilitation Services

A multi-disciplinary team supports patients to optimize independent function before leaving the hospital. The team works with caregivers and community services to develop a collaborative discharge plan.

Respiratory Home Services

In-home care including Respiratory Medication Delivery, Airway Management, Oxygen Therapy and Sleeping Solutions.

Respiratory Services

Respiratory Therapists monitor, assess and treat patients in hospital who require basic or complex cardio-respiratory care.

Surgery

A skilled team of nurses, physicians and support staff provide elective and emergency surgical techniques; 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
