Welcome to Food Services

At St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, our Food Services Department goes beyond meal preparation to provide comprehensive nutrition care for patients. Serving inpatients, the Integrated Stroke Unit, the Continuing Care Centre (CCC), and outpatients, our team of 28 dedicated staff—including cooks, dietary aides, clerical staff, and four registered dietitians—plans, prepares, and delivers over 150,000 meals each year. Our dietitians provide clinical nutrition services, including nutrition assessments, therapeutic nutrition, and individualized counseling for both inpatients and outpatients by physician referral. With 154 dietary adjustments available, all meals are carefully tailored to meet patients’ specific needs, and every new menu item is reviewed and approved by our dietitians and speech-language pathologists to ensure safety and quality. Together, the Food Services team works behind the scenes to support healing, well-being, and an exceptional dining experience for every patient.

Saturday, Sunday & Holidays          7:00am - 2:30pm
