St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) is proud to announce that it has won the London Business Achievement Award in the Excellence in People and Culture category. The award, presented at the RBC Place last evening, recognizes organizations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture and enhancing the well-being of their teams.
“This is a tremendous honour for all of us at STEGH,” said Karen Davies, President & CEO at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. “This award is a reflection of the incredible work and dedication of our entire team, including staff, physicians, and volunteers, who consistently go above and beyond to create an environment where compassion, respect, and exceptional care are at the forefront of everything we do.”
The Excellence in People and Culture Award recognizes organizations that create a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture. STEGH stood out among numerous nominees, thanks to its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, while also prioritizing the well-being and professional growth of its employees.
A group of 23 STEGH representatives, including staff, a physician, a Board member, and a volunteer, were in attendance at the ceremony to accept the award.
“We are immensely proud of the culture we’ve built here at STEGH,” added Davies. “It’s more than just the services we provide; it’s about the way we work together, support each other, and ensure that kindness and empathy define every interaction, whether with our colleagues, patients, or visitors. This award is a testament to that culture and the positive impact it has on our community.”
This achievement highlights STEGH’s ongoing efforts to maintain a supportive and compassionate workplace that values every individual. The hospital continues to promote a culture of care that is felt by both staff and patients alike, ensuring that every person who walks through its doors feels welcomed and valued.
