We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Ross as the new Board Chair of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH). Dan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this leadership role, and we are confident in his ability to guide our institution to new heights.

Dan’s impressive track record of successful leadership and dedication to improving healthcare outcomes aligns perfectly with our hospital’s mission and vision. Prior to joining the STEGH family, Dan was the President and CEO of the London Health Sciences Foundation, a position he held for 10 years. He was also Chair at London Health Sciences Centre and a member of the Health Services Restructuring Commission. Dan is currently Chair of the Ivey Business School Foundation.

As STEGH’s new Board Chair, Dan will help to shape the strategic direction, collaborating with the executive team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and services to our patients.

“I am looking forward to assisting STEGH in creating a strong path forward,” says Dan. “There is lots of opportunity for growth, both in this incredible hospital and the community.”

Dan succeeds Peter van der Westen, who has provided invaluable leadership and guidance to our hospital during his tenure. We extend our deepest gratitude to Peter for his exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication over the past three years as we responded to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we embark on this exciting new chapter under Dan’s leadership, we remain committed to delivering exceptional care to our patients and continuing to foster a culture of compassion and excellence within our hospital.

Please join us in welcoming Dan to STEGH and in wishing him success in his new role. With his leadership and the collective efforts of our esteemed Board of Directors, dedicated staff, and physicians, we are confident in our ability to build upon our achievements and make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients in Elgin County.
