What's New?

Outbreak Update January 23 - The outbreak of gastrointestinal illness at the Hospital has been declared over by Elgin St. Thomas Public Health. There are no longer any visitor restrictions. Please remember to clean your hands before and after visiting a patient. Please do not visit if you are feeling unwell, and consider delaying your visit for 48 hours if you have family members with any illness. Illness can often spread before symptoms are obvious, so if it is in your household, you may be passing it on to others.

Gastrointestinal Illness outbreak update January 21, 2012:  An outbreak of gastrointestinal illness (diarrhea and vomitting) continues in the Continuing Care Centre D Wing only at the St Thomas Elgin General Hospital. D Wing remains closed to visitors. The outbreak on C Wing has been declared over and visitors are now permitted to visit patients on C Wing.

> Gastrointestinal Illness Outbreak declared in Continuing Care Centre (CCC) C and D units. No Visitors to those units until the outbreak has been declared over. Hospital working closely with Elgin St Thomas Public Health. Click here for media release.
