Attestation of Compliance
Ontario’s hospitals operate in one of the most demanding health care accountability systems in all of Canada. Virtually every aspect of hospitals’ performance is regularly subject to external, independent scrutiny. In fact, hospitals have initiated or played a key role in shaping most of their stringent accountability measures.
The Broader Public Sector Accountability Act (BPSAA) outlines new rules, introduced in 2010, to enhance quality, transparency and accountability for hospitals, including the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, and other broader public sector organizations.
The BPSAA requires hospitals to provide attestations of their compliance with the legislation.
