The purpose of the Housekeeping Department is to provide the patients, staff and visitors of the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital with a safe, clean and functional environment. This is accomplished through the efforts of our employees and through the use of cleaning systems, quality products and modern equipment. The results are monitored through various measurable quality audits that assist us in meeting the requirements of the facility. Housekeeping coverage is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
