Volunteering Recruitment Process
Recruit
– Fill vacancies
(minimum 5 month commitment required)
Interview
–
Application; Pledge of Confidentiality; Reference; Handbook - review Infection Control, Regulations & Benefits (perks), General conduct & Dress Code, Emergency codes; Medical History; Directory of Services; Photo Identification; Tour Cloakroom
Screen
–
(Police check required FCMCCU, Crisis Support, and Pastoral Visitors)
Orientate
– Handbook + Attend Hospital General Orientation Session
Place
– 1 to 2 shifts per week
Train
–
Provide Position Description.
Shadow with another Volunteer until feel comfortable to work independently
Volunteer talks with Staff to learn how they can be the most helpful
Schedule
–
Monthly schedule sent to each area of service & posted by Staff
Monitor & Ongoing Communications
–
Monitor position as needed. Also Volunteer could be called to see if they can “spare” for someone else.
Recognize
– Annual Banquet held during National Volunteer Week
