Volunteering Recruitment Process

 Volunteering Recruitment Process
  • Recruit – Fill vacancies (minimum 5 month commitment required)
  • Interview
    • Application; Pledge of Confidentiality; Reference; Handbook - review Infection Control, Regulations & Benefits (perks), General conduct & Dress Code, Emergency codes; Medical History; Directory of Services; Photo Identification; Tour Cloakroom
  • Screen (Police check required FCMCCU, Crisis Support, and Pastoral Visitors)
  • Orientate – Handbook + Attend Hospital General Orientation Session
  • Place – 1 to 2 shifts per week
  • Train
    • Provide Position Description.
    • Shadow with another Volunteer until feel comfortable to work independently
    • Volunteer talks with Staff to learn how they can be the most helpful
  • Schedule Monthly schedule sent to each area of service & posted by Staff
  • Monitor & Ongoing Communications   Monitor position as needed.  Also Volunteer could be called to see if they can “spare” for someone else.
  • Recognize – Annual Banquet held during National Volunteer Week
