Security
Security Services at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital are provided by Securitas, our partner in safety. Our mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for all patients, visitors, staff, physicians and students as well as to protect the assets of the Hospital. Security personnel are available 24/7 and can be reached by dialing “0” and speaking with the switchboard operator.
Hospital Watch Program
Hospital Watch is a program aimed at reducing crime and improving safety within the hospital environment. Hospital staff, patients and visitors promote their own security , and protect their possessions and those of the hospital by becoming more aware of security risks and the steps necessary to prevent them. (link to pamphlet?). To report problems or suspicious activity contact security by dialing “0” to reach the switchboard operator.
Safety & Security is responsible for the coordination of the following within the Hospital:
Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

- The office of Safety & Security is located on the ground floor of the hospital.
