The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) is a 14 beds unit providing specialized care to patients who meet certain admission criteria.
Six beds are devoted to intensive care patients providing services ranging from post surgical care for adults, medical supportive care for critically ill patients admitted from the Emergency department or transferred from other health facilities. Services offered include invasive homodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation and continuous airway monitoring and management, temporary pacemaker insertion, and continuous epidural management.
Eight beds are devoted to supporting cardiac monitoring, supporting patients who require less observation than intensive nursing care but more critical observation than what can be provided on a Medical or Surgical floor. Cardiac monitoring services can include thrombolytic therapy, electro-diagnostic monitoring, continuous oxygen monitoring and therapy, cardioversion, pain management, continuous epidural management.
CICU Hours of Operation: 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
24 Hour On Call- Internal Medicine Physician, Anesthetist and Surgeon
Visiting Hours
From 1400-2000hrs daily. Special care visiting hours for critically ill patients may be arranged outside of the hospital’s posted hours. Visiting hours for these patients will be determined by the members of the health care team in consultation with the patient and their families on an individual basis.
