Interpreter Service

The Hospital has a list of employees who are able to speak languages other than English. If you require an interpreter, please ask your Nurse. American sign language interpreters are also available upon request.

Information Desk

Volunteers are stationed at the Ground Floor East Entrance from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm and will provide directions to various departments and patient room information. You may call 519-631-2030 ext. 2181. After hours: Use telephone across from Information Desk, instructions are posted above.

Switchboard

The switchboard is available 24 hours a day. You may reach an operator by dialing 519 631-2020 and pressing “0”.

Mail

Any mail you receive is delivered to your room daily. Outgoing mail may be left at the Nursing Station. Stamps are available at the Gift Box in the Atrium. Please make sure your family and friends have the correct address:

E-mail

Friends and family can send you e-mail by clicking on “Patient E-mail” on our website at www.stegh.on.ca This service is for incoming e-mail only. Patients are not able to reply.

General Visiting

Hours Visiting Hours are 2:00pm - 8:00pm Maximum two visitors at a time Please speak with a nursing unit for specific visiting guidelines in specialized areas (Coronary Intensive Care Unit, Family Centred Maternal Child Care Unit, Palliative, etc.)
